The Keystone focus area seeks to connect and support policy, advocacy, accurate narratives, and field and movement- building efforts that are contributing to a culture of interconnected well-being that will be reflected in narratives, structures, policies, and the ways in which organizations and communities operate. The work is viewed through a climate justice lens.

We prioritize applicants that:

  • Are led by Black, Indigenous, People of Color, rural Mainers, and women;

  • Are working collaboratively across sectors; and/or

  • Will leverage and enhance public frameworks, funding, or collaborative efforts (e.g. Maine Won’t Wait, Ending Hunger in Maine by 2030, Working Communities Challenge, Justice 40), infusing a focus on climate justice.

2024 Grantmaking

Because of the limited funding available this year, our grantmaking will be by invitation only. We will either invite new applications (for new work or for organizations that aren’t current grantees) or make amendments to existing grants. If you have work that you would like to have considered for invitation, please contact Megan Shore to discuss.
